Double portrait of lions, 1960s

I wish I could read the label on the bottom, which might explain this wacky portrait of a mister and missus lion…I *think* I can make out the words “Marvelous Mane”? My grandfather had fiery red hair so maybe this is some kind of allegorical love-note to represent my grandparents?
